About Alpaca

Alpacas are very social, intelligent creatures that tend to be docile and very sweet. They are true pack animals and always prefer to be around their pack. They get along very well with children and can be halter trained rather easily, and can be easily herded without a dog. They do spit (the most common question that we get!!) but unlike their cousins the camel, they mostly spit at each other or if feeling very threatened. Their only true way of protecting themselves from predators is by running.  Read More...

Birthing Alpaca Services

Birthing services will be available beginning Fall 2017
The birthing season is one of our favorite times at the ranch!! We have assisted the new mothers many times and have attended neonatal classes to learn the many issues that may occur. We have a separate Herd Health Room in our barn that the mother and newborn stay in when needed which usually means for the first 2-3 days. If you are not comfortable with the birthing process, or cannot be “On-Call” full time, let us help you and the new mother! Please see a list of our offerings below. Call us for more details if needed! Read More...
